Lorinda finds the perfect Christmas gift for her mother - a red vase worth $35.00. After weeks of odd jobs that finally net the required amount of money, Lorinda and her brother discover that their arch-enemy, Reginald, has bought the vase. Ironically, the children learn by accident that their mother has seen the treasured gift in the store, and thought it tasteless. Through Lorinda's creative problem-solving, the children are still able to buy the best Christmas gift ever.
