Winston is in trouble--he has been suspended from school and he has run away from home. So, he is sent to live with his newspaper columnist father who he hasn't seen much in a year. While on an assignment, Winston makes friends with two guys who are trying to run across Canada...a goal that impresses Winston as the boys are amputees. When his father decides to do another article, less flattering, Winston decides it is time to make a run for it himself.
