The British and Canadians were marching on the American fort of Detroit. The Americans, who had expected to seize Upper Canada without a struggle, were in retreat, holed up within the walls of the Fort. Pierre Berton recounts the dramatic scenes at the start of a war that helped shape the new Canada and define the Canadian character.

"For pre-teen and young teenage readers."
